Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. When you use DIGET, we store the quizzes you generate, your answers, scores, and usage statistics such as streaks and XP.

If you use the browser extension (Chrome or Firefox), we process the content you select or the URLs you provide to generate quizzes. We do not store the raw content after the quiz is generated.

2. Browser Extension Permissions

The DIGET browser extension (available for Chrome and Firefox) requests the following permissions. Each permission is used strictly for its stated purpose:

  • activeTab: to read the content of the page you are currently viewing when you click the DIGET icon, so we can generate quiz questions from it.
  • storage: to save your authentication token, preferences (language, theme, question count), and cached profile data locally in your browser.
  • identity: to enable Google Sign-In through the browser's built-in OAuth flow.
  • scripting: to inject the content extraction script into the active page so we can read article text, detect content type, and enable the element picker tool.
  • contextMenus: to add a right-click menu option ("Generate Quiz from Selection") when you highlight text on any page.

The extension (Chrome and Firefox) does not collect browsing history, track your activity across websites, or access any page unless you explicitly activate it by clicking the DIGET icon or using the right-click menu.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and improve the DIGET service
  • Generate quizzes from content you choose
  • Track your quiz history, scores, and review queue
  • Send transactional emails (verification, password reset)
  • Manage your subscription and billing

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

Google FirebaseAuthentication

Zoho MailTransactional emails

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them. We do not sell your data to any third party.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Data retention

Your account data and quiz history are stored as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Export your quiz history
  • Delete your account at any time from the settings page

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are never stored in plain text.

9. Children

DIGET is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you by email or through the service if we make significant changes.
